Exclusive Chandolin...

Yes Winter is there, it 's already the end of January and all our conceived intentions are already fading away...

Oh wait! Did you jump into the New Year and it's loaded of good resolutions band-wagon?

Well for once, I did not had time to commit to any.

Still, at the the dawn of this new year, February is showing up with it's dull, dreary and damp weather...

But we shall not dwell into dull greyness guys, shall we?

Have you ever wished to find a place like those in traditional winter season's greetings cards?

How not to be easily moved by fairy landscapes and nature looking like this?



At the time of our little escapade, I had to focus on preparing for examinations and was a bit skeptical about how to manage the reviews and enjoy the trip at the same time.

But as soon as we arrived to Chandolin (Anniviers), I realised that Chandolin was full of surprises...



Aiming at travelling to a peaceful, welcoming village all dressed in white or to enjoy the joy of ski season? Then Chandolin is the place.


Chandolin is referred to as the muse of poets, the stopover for travellers and a destination for distinguished guests.


Make sure you get there for Apéro Time. That would be the best way to catch the friendly atmosphere as well as to directly meet local shop owners and residents...

We stayed at the Chandolin Boutique Hotel. This Boutique Hotel is a place of great taste and refined interiors, coupled with wide views of exceptional exteriors. At one point, one needs to stop describing things...Winter in all its glory...





Here is the view from my review retreat where I spent most of the time, feeling and experiencing the calm and ....civil proceedings...

I was stunned by the musical selection, going from deep house to revisited funk beats, all making great lounge music for enhanced sound experience...




The food was of course not to be disregarded and complemented gracefully the overall seriously "boutique" situation.

The restaurant is designed beautifully in a fashion that enables guests to take advantage of the winter wonderland. Guests can have a glance at what is happening in the Kitchen as part of the Kitchen is also visible which adds a subdle touch of originality.

The "Potage taillé de légumes de légumes aux truffes noires et foi gras fine croûte en mille feuille" , "the noix de saint Jacques cuite en coquille purée de topinambour au lardo di colonnat et melanosporum" and Agneau de lait dent du midi " amongst others were an ode to the Chef willingness to stay close to the raw ingredients and to still bring sophistication to earth kitchen. An art!

Beside the cuisine, the sommelier is playing an essential part in this epicurean symphony. .

There was a night Bar inside the Hotel where I actually had my birthday...
