Here on a short trip to Amsterdam - No scarf needed. Wrap yourself in and roll! Morning till night...
've just got my last slow fashion, preferred coat for this winter and many others to come I believe #slowfashion! The Teddy Coat of Max Mara #maxmarateddybearcoat!
Why, why, why? This article has quite a price tag, to be honest, but sometimes, isn't it worth investing in wearable comfort ?
At the beginning of each Autumn Fall Winter season, I go for a coat visual hunt which ends up by trying all pieces that have retained my attention. Hence, this year my quest to spot the perfect winter coat lead me to those stores in Luxembourg:
Max Mara: And there I tried Manuela! This is an oversized coat in fur-effect camel wool fabric on a silk base with lapels, low set-in sleeves and welt pockets. Lined. Double-breasted two-button fastening. Composition: - Jersey Fabric: 88% Camel, 12% silk - Lining: 100% Polyester
Needless to say that despite its oversized look on my tiny body, I indubitably fell in love with it! Trying it was fatal!
The three-quarter length is perfect, allowing various ways to wear it!
Worn over a mini skirt just like Alessandra Ambrosio...
Or over a casual pair of jeans and ankle boots as Eva Chen ...
Or over a denim matching set as Elsa Hosk!
Not at all!
But It was the warmth of the material when I wrapped myself in it.
Yes I it has been called, the teddy Coat is like hugging and dragging your preferred Teddy Bear with you. You feel protected!

Indeed the noble fibres and the rich plush camel texture this coat is realised of made the difference.
But Alessandra Shipp (female protagonist Tempesta in the next entry of X-Men saga, Dark Phoenix) receiving the "Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award 2018" did add to my motivation to buy this iconic piece on top of its quality.
Alessandra Ship - "All those young girls looking at me, will understand that they can to be appreciated. She said that "even if those girls are looking like me"meaning "not being super skinny and, most of all black"...
Max Mara is hence making a statement about the issue of diversity and women! And it a plus!
Yes, it has been called, the TeddyBear Coat for a reason: wearing it is like... carrying your preferred Teddy Bear with you. All records of your prized childhood Teddy are back!
After trying a lot of other coats, my mind was still evolving around this one. It was perfect.
I tried other winter coats at
After trying a lot of other coats, I was still thinking of this one. It is perfect.
I tried at
Bash where I tried those coats:
Lyam a sheep skin Coat:
This coat is so Bohemian Chic and is beautifully cut.
Plus: Very warm, one of the most feminine amongst the oversized trend (the leather belt) with straight structure shape. Gives some allure!
Minus:
-Not closed in the front, and especially opens up around the V neck area.
-Depending of what you're wearing underneath, this Coat might fall not exactly perfect. No oversized pull over for instance - Hence, you must wear it with a very warm scarf to be protected from the cold elements.
- In case of rain, you'd better take shelter! Even this coat has been treated for such possibility, it is not the one I would go with first on rainy days. And trust me, Luxembourg is a very green country!
-Not shaped for every body types!
Day
In Day cost, I felt covered with elegance. This piece is absolutely a go to as a mid-season piece.
Plus: Long cut with a belt and classy but not too much.
Minus: Not warm enough for cold winter season.
Yellow
With Yellow, it was a feel of freedom!
Plus: You can add to this a belt for a more feminine look! And it is reversible!
Minus: Not to much negative things to say except that if you're leaving in a cold country and if you're aiming at a fully covering coat, then you might fall short !
